The Most Important Internet Skill You Can Develop - And Its Nothing Technical

Surprisingly, the most important Internet skills you can ever develop no connection to the Internet.

or technology.

or a computer.

the most important internet skills you can develop a commonsense. The ability to use them to critically analyze the things that come across while looking at a computer screen.

must understand that for every piece of advice you get will be just as compelling - and vice versa -. A piece of advice

must develop the skill to determine when something applies to you - and when not. And even when such advice is a crock of shite that is not good for anyone.

If you are unsure of something, and can not reach a decision about its value is often best to ask professional you can trust, who is familiar with you and your particular situaciji.Nekoliko minutes of conversation, or a quick e-mail, save time and effort.

it seems to be full of wonderful possibilities. You will see the endless promises of instant wealth just begging to be funneled into your bank account, if you only buy one book, or course, or a private membership, or to plan a program for just $ 29, $ 49, $ 77, $ 197, or more often these days, $ 1997th

you will read compelling sales letters that say that sitting around in underwear and making thousands of dollars by midday.

a common thread with most of those offers that have been carefully designed to resonate with an automatic trigger of human action

There are 6 of them, as defined by Dr. Robert Cialdini in his must read book Influence:. Psychology of persuasion

6 triggers:

response: If someone does something for you, your automatic response is to return the favor. Commitment and consistency: if we said something or agree to do something, our future actions tend to be consistent with what we've done before. Social Proof: stories of other people who have had incredible success with this product. (Eg, statement) favor: We are more likely to trust someone "like us". Authority: focus on well-known, respected figures. This is why celebrities are so successful when promoting products. scarcity: the fear of missing out on something.
marketers, sales people, advertisers, my children, and their friends to use this technique, either naturally or by design in order to influence your decision, and you do what they want you do.

and the internet gives everyone the opportunity and platform to tell their part. They can say what they like. True or not.

and it is up to you to decide whether their words are true or false, given the various clues left behind, or on additional research that can be easily done.

I believe it is necessary to develop the ability to quickly assess what to see, hear or read, and determine whether it applies to your situation and your goals.

Do not fall for promises of endless magic secret that will instantly solve all your problems, and give you the opportunity to earn a high income without putting in any work of some kind.

I think about things. Use brain. It is very tempting to just give the syrupy smooth sales pitches arising from the consciousness of high-priced copywriters whose job it is to use every conceivable trick to make you type in those magic numbers, credit card and buy the product.

, and we encourage you to get a copy of Robert Cialdini's book, "Influence - Psychology of persuasion." I learned about these triggers and how they are used

This is especially important in these days in which governments, journalists, merchants, and all kinds of spin doctors trying to influence your thoughts and actions by means of writing and oratory. Skills in identifying these triggers, and when used, will allow you to negate their effects, and force you to return something to critically evaluate its merits. Or lack of them.

Be careful. It's getting rough out there.
